Limited edition Leica M10-P “Reporter” was designed with photojournalists in mind

Tips & Techniques

Leica has just announced another limited edition camera. The Leica M10-P “Reporter” was designed to honor the 40th anniversary of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award and pay homage to all the great press and reportage photographers.

What makes M10-P “Reporter” different from the regular M10-P is only the appearance. It features a dark green, scratch-resistant finish and black Kevlar camera trim. in my opinion, it looks a bit badass and rugged, and I like it. The Kevlar diamond-weave texture on the camera body was made with photojournalists in mind. It makes the camera more durable and more comfortable to hold. It’s interesting that, through exposure to natural UV rays, the armor will gradually turn the same color as its top and base plate. It reminded me of toy cars that change color once you place them in hot water.

But enough about my childhood flashbacks, let’s discuss the specs. Or actually, let’s just mention them, since there’s not really much to discuss. Specs-wise, the Leica M10-P “Reporter” the regular M10-P in disguise. The specs in both cameras are identical:
